Experience, Education and Ethics Mark
Certified Management Consultants

Certified Management Consultant, CMC, is a designation awarded by the Institute of Management Consultants USA. The certification marks evidence of the highest standards of consulting experience and education, as well as adherence to the profession’s ethical canons.

What is Certification?
Like many other professions, Management Consultants have a certification program for serious practitioners.  The certifying body is the Institute of Management Consultants USA.  Certification assures a consultant meets high standards of capability and performance. To successfully complete the certification process, a consultant must meet all of IMC USA’s standards and be approved by the national organization’s Board of Directors.

What does Certification Mean to You?
When you deal with a Certified Management Consultant, you work with someone who is Recommended, Trusted and Experienced. You know the consultant's commitment to your work is a top priority, that the consultant has the experience necessary to assist with your area of need, and that the highest standard of ethics will be maintained.

Recommended
Part of the certification process includes client recommendations. When you engage a Certified Management Consultant, you work with someone recommended by clients for professional accomplishments, working effectively with people, and achieving results.

Trusted
The Institute of Management Consultants USA promotes high ethical standards.  As part of the certification process, consultants commit to these standards of behavior, as they relate to:

·      Accepting only those client engagements they are qualified to perform;

·      Rendering impartial, independent advice;

·      Developing realistic and practical solutions to client problems;

·      Agreeing with the client in advance on the basis for professional charges; and

·      Safeguarding confidential client information.

The profession monitors performance against these standards, and when necessary, investigates complaints and takes disciplinary action.

Commitment to Clients.
Before being considered for certification, a consultant must have practiced full-time consulting for at least 3-5 years. When dealing with a Certified Management Consultant, you  are dealing with someone who is committed to seeing your engagement through completion. The Certified Management Consultant will provide a level of professional service designed to ensure your satisfaction with the results of the engagement.

Proven
In order to attain the Certified Management Consultant designation, a consultant’s experience and education, as well as demonstrated ability to successfully solve clients' problems, are judged by both consulting peers and prior clients. You are assured that a Certified Management Consultant has a proven track record.
